314

The 314 handlebar was developed specifically for the Gravelbike. The gravel handlebar builds on the ergonomic concepts of the front sweep, the angular grip surface and the maximized contact surface of the 314. With a 25 mm rise and 14 ° dropbar flare the handlebar additionally takes into account the requirements of the ride in the terrain.

Ergonomic

The 25 mm rise of the handlebars allows for a more relaxed posture on long distances by a slightly more upright seating position on the gravel bike.

Grip security

The 14° flare in the dropbar provides more control on technically challenging off-road rides. The gravel handlebar was specially designed for the dropbar flare to start below the brake handles to not change their position. Thus, the brake remains within reach at all times.

Maximum Surface

The raised area of the gravel handlebar is flattened and pulled forward to create the largest possible contact surface. This results in the best possible grip with simultaneous uniform pressure distribution on the handlebar surface.

Ergobar

The wave-shaped elevation on the front of the handlebar gives a flat slightly angular shape. Thus, the gravel handlebar fits perfectly into the angular angled fingers of the hand.

Angular und Areal

Thanks to the flattened outer surface, the handlebar is also pleasant to grip in the lower position and at the same time provides a secure hold in various riding situations.

Handlebar width for the gravel bike

When choosing the right handlebar width for the gravel bike, several factors such as shoulder width, comfort and individual preferences play a role.

To determine the correct handlebar width, we recommend adding 2 cm to the measured shoulder width for more control and stability on uneven terrain.

Shoulder width + 2cm = optimum handlebar width

Shoulder width can be measured as the distance between the two shoulder roofs (acromion).

Dropbar with Frontsweep

Numbness in the fingers is a common problem, which often arises from an overstretching of the wrist. In a neutral posture, our wrists are naturally straight.

For arm positions that are wider than shoulder-width, for example when holding a MTB handlebar, we prevent an overstretching of the wrist through a backsweep.

But for arm positions closer than shoulder-width, a backsweep would stretch the wrist again. That‘s why the 314 gravel handlebar has a frontsweep of 10°, to ensure a straight transition from the forearm to the hand.
