The days are getting longer again, the temperatures are rising, we want to spend more time outdoors and plan our first bike tours. We have put together a few tips for you to ensure a smooth start to the new season.
If you haven't got on your bike over the winter, your training has changed or even stopped altogether and your body has adapted, you should check the saddle settings before your first ride.
1. Adjustment tips for the saddle
We have clearly explained the most important settings in the video:
2. Acclimatizing the sit bones
3. The right pants pad
Tip from our SQlab laboratory:
4. Strengthen muscles
Spinal complaints are a common ailment and range from a slight disturbance of well-being to massive restrictions in sport and everyday life. In daily practice, it can be observed time and again how muscle imbalances, shortening and the resulting poor posture and back pain can cause even healthy spines. Excessive sitting at work and in the car encourage these poor postures. Regular exercises to specifically strengthen the back and core muscles are therefore recommended as a preventative measure. Together with Dr. Markus Knöringer, a specialist in neurosurgery, intervertebral disc and spinal surgery, we have compiled a selection of the right exercises for every level of training in our SQlab back guide.
The natural pelvic movement of walking.Transferred to cycling.
In order to keep the intervertebral discs and facet joints in motion while cycling and to prevent one-sided pressure loads, we have developed the active technology for our saddles, which enables horizontal pelvic movement, similar to walking.
We already revised the active system for the MTB, Road and Gravel models in 2022. In 2023, we introduced the latest evolutionary stage for the active Comfort technology. The horizontal saddle movement is now even smoother and more natural.
